What is Somniloquy

Learned a new word today. Somniloquy. It means “sleep-talking”, or more specifically, talking while you are sleeping. I am not sleeping now as I write this, but this is a discussion about sleep.

Somniloquy with L & C will touch on subjects such as how to sleep, why we sleep, and where we sleep. After all, that’s what this blog was created for.

To discuss all things directly and indirectly related to sleep.

We all need sleep. Humans, animals, bugs, and, would you believe it, even most sea creatures.

Your fish might not have eyelids, but they still need their rest! Your dog needs more than 12 hours of sleep per day. Your cat can sleep up to 16 hours in 24 hours.

But what about you? I’m sure you’ve been made aware that it is recommended that adults get at least 8 hours of shut-eye each night.

Do you get the recommended amount of sleep? How do you feel when you don’t get enough sleep? It’s questions such as this that we hope to help answer.

So let’s start the sleep-talking. Welcome to

Somniloquy with L & C.

When you walk outside, you might be thinking that “Baby It’s Cold Outside” could easily have been written by Frank Loesser today. Most likely not in Florida, where Lavender & Chamomile is headquartered, but in other parts of the country. We know brisk nights have replaced those balmy and beautiful ones. As Autumn creeps along and we head towards Winter, the temperatures will take a dubious dip. We know the benefits of sleeping cooler, but we may get to a point where it feels too cold to sleep comfortably. Alternatively, setting the heat too low can dry the air, which can irritate your skin or even hamper your breathing. So you can get some super slumber, here are 5 tips to help you sleep more comfortably when it is colder:
